April Fools' Day

April Fools' Day is a special event in Animal Crossing: New Leaf that takes place on April 1. On this day, you can meet Blanca in the town square. Blanca will go to your villagers' houses one by one and pretend to be each villager. If you figure out which of the two is the impostor, you get your villager's picture.

Starting the Guessing Game

To start the guessing game, you have to first find Blanca, who is walking around the town square area. Unlike other special visitors, Blanca does not stand still near the town tree, so be sure to walk around the area until you find Blanca.

Getting Villager Pictures

After you talk to Blanca, the cat will disappear. Now you have to visit each of your villagers in his or her house. You can tell if a villager is at home by looking for smoke from the chimney. Go into each villagers' house until you find a house where there are two villagers in the same house. One of the two is a fake. Talk to one of them and he/she will ask you to figure out which one of them is the fake.
Listen carefully to what each villager says. Each one will say some identifying information, such as his or her birthday, favorite saying, dream for the future, or birth order and number of siblings. Whichever villager says incorrect information is the fake.
After each villager speaks, the villager will ask if you have figure out which of them is the fake. If you don't know, just say that you don't know, and you can talk to them again to get more information.
If you have figured it out, tell the villager that you figured it out. The villager will give you a face towel. Talk to the FAKE and give the towel to the fake. The villager will use the face towel, and if you were correct, the fake will turn into Blanca. Blanca disappears, and the real villager gives you his or her picture.

Getting Everyone's Picture

Blanca will go to each villager's house one by one. Just go around looking for the house that has two of the same villager in it and play the guessing game, using villager information to determine which is the fake. After you have played the game with all the villagers, Blanca will go back to the town square.

Getting Blanca's Picture

If you get the correct answers and get all the villagers' pictures, you will receive Blanca's picture in the mail the next day.

Halloween

Halloween is on October 31 in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. During Halloween, you can get lollipops and candy from villagers, which you can exchange with Jack for rare Spooky or Creepy furniture.

When to Get Candy

Halloween festivities take place between 6PM and Midnight on October 31. During this time, you can get candy from villagers.

How to Get Candy

You can get lollipops and candy from villagers. The way to get the candy depends on whether the villager is walking around outside or is inside his or her house.

Getting Candy from Outdoor Villagers

Villagers walking outside will be wearing pumpkin head masks of different colors. You can talk to these villagers to play a mini-game. If you win the mini-game, the villager will give you candy. However, if you lose, then you will put on a pumpkin head mask, or if you're already wearing a mask, a Ragged clothing item or a Jack-in-the-Box will appear in your inventory.

Getting Candy from Indoor Villagers

Villagers in their homes can be scared into giving you candy and lollipops. The mask required for scaring the villager depends on the villager's personality and animal type.

Your Birthday

Your birthday is a special event in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. You set your birthday when you create your character and have that character talk to Isabelle. You can receive special items on your birthday. This page has the details.

K.K. Slider's "Your Birthday" song

On the Saturday before your birthday, visit K.K. Slider at the usual time (8PM to Midnight) inClub LOL. On this day, instead of taking requests, K.K. Slider will perform "Your Birthday". He won't give you a copy of the song that day, but instead will send the song to you in a letter the next day.

Your Birthday Party

A villager with whom you have medium to high friendship will be in front of your house when you start up the game on your birthday. This villager will take you to his or her house for your birthday party.
During the party, check on the birthday cake on the table. You can type in a wish, then stand in front of your birthday cake and blow into the 3DS microphone to blow out the candles. Then the villager hosting your birthday party will give you a gift! Depending on your friendship level with the villager who is throwing the party, you may receive one of these items:
  • Birthday Board
  • Birthday Cake
  • Birthday Candle
  • Birthday Hat
  • Birthday Sunglasses
  • Birthday Table
The host of the party might also ask you what you wished for. It's up to you to tell the villager your wish or not!
